I’m J.E. Doiron, a Canadian writer with a passion for character-driven stories, rich settings, and emotional depth. Whether I’m writing novels, scripts, or travel essays, I’m drawn to the layered depths of the human heart; to the quiet battles we fight, the myths we carry, and the histories we live and inherit.

I hold a BA in Arts with a focus in Literature, History, and Religious Studies, and I graduated with honours from Toronto Film School’s Writing for Film and Television program, where I earned a place on the President’s List for academic excellence. I’ve also studied psychology to deepen my understanding of human behaviour; something that continues to shape the way I write characters and build story worlds.

My fiction often blends realism with a touch of magic, the strange with the sacred. I love writing complex, flawed, deeply human characters; even if they’re Fae, Druid or Vampire. I love exploring how we’re shaped by memory, loss, trauma, love, and longing.

When I’m not writing fiction, I travel (as often as I can), documenting places that stir the imagination. I fell hard for Scotland; the mist, the history, the weather-worn castles, and I’m dreaming of returning soon, perhaps one day to stay.

I’m also a single mom, raising two wonderful children who remind me daily why chasing our dreams matters. They keep me grounded, curious, and endlessly inspired.

You can find me most days with a notebook or laptop, chasing a story that won’t let me go. I’m currently querying my first novel and developing on several others, including two separate series.
